Ride for Food 2025

Farm Manager, Greg Maslowe, Assistant Grower, Katie Goldstein, and Board Member Dan Scheib are among those riding or walking to raise funds for the Farm!

Ride & Walk to End Hunger

We’re coming together to raise critical funds and awareness about food insecurity—because we believe everyone deserves access to three healthy meals every day.

How you can help:

  • Donate: Support our team’s efforts! Our goal is to raise $10,000 to provide even more fresh, nutritious produce from the Farm to local agencies serving those in need.

  • Join the team: Walk or ride alongside us! Our team includes staff, board members, volunteers, and friends of the Farm—all united by a shared commitment to ending hunger. You can ride or walk.

  • Can’t join us on October 5? No problem, you can also participate virtually. You can even hike or kayak!

  • Register to participate: Be part of a community-driven effort to make sure no one goes without.

Together, we can grow food and hope for our neighbors.

Color Block Dried Flower Wreath Workshop

Explore the shapes and colors of a vast array of locally grown flowers by crafting them into a color block wreath that will last you all year long. Using flowers grown and dried by Duck Hollow Farm from spring through fall, we will have lots of material to work with to create a wreath that will bring all the colors of the growing season into your home for the winter months.

No experience necessary: we will have wild grapevine wreath bases, wire, and over 50 varieties of glorious dried flowers for you to build your wreath, and the Duck Hollow farmers will walk you through all the steps; maybe you’ll learn some flower names and varieties too!

It will be a cozy evening of crafting, admiring all the shapes and colors nature offers us, and maybe even making new friends. We’ll provide light, but delectable, snacks and beverages to keep your creativity fueled. We can’t wait to see you there!

Where: Newton Community Farm, 303 Nahanton Street, Newton, MA 02459

When: Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2 to 4pm

Cost: $130

Sign up directly with Duck Hollow Farm by emailing Laurel at laurel@al-freshco.com.
