Newton Community Farm is a 2.25 acre intensive market garden, including two moveable high tunnels, one smaller high tunnel, and two propagation greenhouses. We utilize both tillage and no-till practices. We are incorporated as a non-profit and offer educational programming and public events.
Our markets include a Summer CSA, Late Fall CSA, Fruit Share, Flower Share, farm stand, weekly farmers’ market, and weekly food donations. In the spring we hold a seedling sale during which approximately 30,000 seedlings are grown and sold to the public.
Our goal is to farm in a way that is sustainable not only for the land but also for our workers.

Field Crew
We are looking for two field crew members to join us for the 2026 season. We have some flexibility with the number of hours (between 20 and 40 hrs/week) and start and end dates (mainly June through September). If you are not sure if the schedule is a good fit for you, please reach out to us to see if we can find a schedule that works.
Our field crew works closely with the Farm Manager, Assistant Farm Manager, and Assistant Grower in all aspects of farm operations. The field crew position requires excellent people skills and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment. Field crew should be able to work independently and with limited supervision. Openness to learning new skills and techniques is essential and works both ways: we encourage our crew to share their skills and past experiences here at NCF. This is a physically demanding job requiring the ability to lift, bend, squat, kneel, etc., and do so in all weather conditions.

Farm Stand Worker
We are hiring for a Farm Stand worker for the season. We seek an individual who is passionate about growing, cooking, and eating fresh, local produce and sharing that passion with the community.
The Farm Stand worker runs our farm stand 3 days per week at the farm. The position starts when our Farm Stand opens in June and runs through November when the stand closes. The hours (including setup and closing) are Thursdays and Fridays, from approximately 1:00pm to 6:30pm, and Saturdays, from 8:00am to 1:30pm.
The Farm Stand worker is responsible for loading produce from our cooler into one of our trucks, setting up the farm stand, staffing the farm stand while it is open, and then bringing produce back down to the cooler at the end of the day. During operating hours, the Farm Stand worker should pay attention to the condition of produce and the stand and coordinate with other staff to resupply the stand as needed. This position is community facing and requires good interpersonal skills and a desire to share your knowledge of and interest in fresh, local produce with our customers. It also requires the ability to perform basic math, use calculating scales, and operate (with training) a POS system (Square).
