Join us for fresh, local produce all summer long!

We’re excited to announce that registration for our 2025 Summer CSA program is now open! This year all registration will be done online. Click here to sign up.

If you were a 2024 Summer CSA sharer, you’ll be able to sign up starting January 20th. Keep an eye on your email for more details and instructions.

For those who were in the 2024 Late Fall CSA, you’ll be able to sign up starting February 3rd. Again, we’ll send more information your way via email.

Starting February 10th, registration will be open to everyone, and we’ll keep accepting sign-ups until we sell out. Shares will be available first come, first served.

You need to be a Friend of the Farm to apply. If you’ve donated $50 or more since November 1, 2024, you’re all set. If not, you can join by making a donation now. If you’re not sure if you’re already a Friend of the Farm, please email admin@newtoncommunityfarm.org

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way for you to buy a share of the farm’s harvest in advance. In return, you’ll get fresh, sustainably grown vegetables and herbs throughout the growing season.

  • Our Summer CSA runs for 20 weeks.
  • 80 shares are available, and you can choose between a weekly share or an alternate week share (pick up every other week).
  • Signing up for a CSA share helps the farm by providing us with income in the winter when we’re purchasing supplies, and you benefit by getting fresh produce straight from the field.

Why join the CSA?

When you sign up for our CSA, you’re getting fresh, local produce at a great value. CSA members typically save 15-20% compared to our retail prices, and you’ll be supporting sustainable farming practices at the same time.

The CSA is a great way to get a weekly or bi-weekly supply of healthy vegetables and herbs while helping the farm cover its costs for the season.

What’s in a share?

Here’s some of what you can expect to find in your share over the season:

  • June: Fresh greens like arugula, spinach, kale, and lettuce along with carrots, broccolini, beets, Hakurei salad turnips, sugar snap peas, and scallions
  • July: Summer favorites like cucumbers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, and basil along with plenty of lettuce.
  • August and Early September: Lots of tomatoes, corn, peppers, and eggplant along with fresh greens and PYO green beans.
  • Late September and Early October: Potatoes, winter squash, kale, Swiss chard, and more.

Program details

  • Dates: The 2025 Summer CSA runs from June 4 to October 16
  • Cost:
    • Weekly Share: $893
    • Alternate Week Share: $483
  • Pick Up:
    • Wednesdays & Thursdays from 2–7 pm at the farm.
    • Can’t make it? No problem – ask a friend or neighbor to pick up your share!
    • Pick-Your-Own herbs are also available on Saturdays before 3 pm.
  • Donations: Any unclaimed shares will be donated to a local food pantry.

Alternate Week Shares

If you find that a weekly share is too much for your household, you can choose an alternate week share. This gives you a full share of produce every other week. Just make sure to choose your preferred start week when you sign up.

Split Shares

You can also split a share with family, friends, or neighbors. The person who signs up will be listed as the official sharer and will be responsible for payment. Please make sure that either one person picks up the share each week or that both parties pick up together, so you don’t take more than your fair share.

How to Apply

Sign up online. The link to sign up will appear here once registration opens to the public on Monday, February 10.

You do not need to be a Newton resident to participate.

Important: You must be a current Friend of the Farm to apply for a CSA share. If you’ve donated $50 or more since November 1, 2024, you’re all set. If not, you can join by making a donation now. If you’re not sure if you’re already a Friend of the Farm, please email admin@newtoncommunityfarm.org

You can pay by credit card or by check.  If you are paying by check, please select the “Pay Later” option and mail your check within 7 days of registering.  Your registration is not final until payment is received.  You must include your $50 Friend of the Farm donation.  If you have donated $50 or more since November 1, 2024, you are already a Friend of the Farm.

If you are registering for a weekly share you can choose to split your payment. That means that you can pay for half of your share now to reserve it ($446.50 plus your Friend of the Farm donation if you aren’t already a member), then pay for the second half before the CSA starts. The second payment is due by May 28th.
