A place to dig, learn, and grow

Renovations

Our renovation projects center around adaptive restoration, preserving the character and significant historical aspects of the site while at the same time supporting a modern working farm and community resource.

Work in Progress

Barn. Our master plan involves a 2-phase conversion of the barn to an educational and community center. In 2008 we completed Phase One of the project. This phase included cleaning out the barn, repairing and strengthening the foundation and timber frame, insulating walls and roof, and installing new windows, new siding, and a new asphalt shingle roof. A new underground electric service was installed to the barn, with spare conduits for future phone and internet.

Phase Two of the project will transform the interior of the barn to be suitable for public use.  We will add bathrooms, handicap accessibility, and heating.

Completed Projects

Information Kiosk. Thanks to a generous donation from Lipof Real Estate Services, Inc., we installed a primary sign and information kiosk at the Winchester Street entrance.

Farmhouse. We renovated and cleaned the interior for habitation, including wallpaper removal, painting, window replacement, and kitchen remodeling.
