A place to dig, learn, and grow

Learning Garden

The Learning Garden is a designated area of the farm for hands-on workshops. Here, students can try out new skills and “learn by doing”.

Classes such as Square Foot Gardening, Potato in a Box, and Plots in Pots use the Learning Garden. Get Growing participants planted the west end with peas and beets. The Permaculture Boot Camp class has built a demonstration permaculture bed. A sunflower house and pole bean tepee are rising skyward, too. In July and August, our Farmer In Training campers are responsible for maintaining this accessible and vibrant growing space while learning about soil health, pest and weed control, plant anatomy, and food production.

We encourage you to visit the farm to discover this attractive and versatile space for yourself.
